Bridge91

Employer of Record · India · est. 2026

Hire in India. Without being in India.

Bridge91 becomes the legal employer on your hire’s Indian contract. You keep the work, the direction and the intellectual property. We carry every statutory obligation it creates — and show you each one, itemised.

  • No Indian entity required
  • Three working days to payroll
  • One wholly-owned Indian entity

Roles companies hire in India through Bridge91

The process

Four steps. Three days. Done.

From a shortlisted candidate — in any role — to a person legally employed in India and inside every statutory register they belong in.

  1. Tell us who you are hiring

The role, the salary you have in mind, and when you want them to start. Any role — we do not care whether they write code or close the books.

  2. We onboard them

Employment contract, Provident Fund, ESI and tax deducted at source, all in place within three working days of a signed agreement.

  3. We carry the employment

Monthly rupee payroll, every statutory filing, health cover, reimbursements and HR support — handled by the same chartered-accountant-led team.

  4. You do the work

One monthly invoice in dollars, itemised line by line. Your team delivers. Nothing about India lands on your desk.

What we do

Everything India. One partner.

Five services, delivered by the same chartered-accountant-led team, on one agreement and one invoice. You are not assembling this from vendors, and you are not managing the seams between them.

The real numbers

The same person, hired two ways.

Most companies reach us after a year of trying to move somebody to the United States. This is the arithmetic that ends that conversation.

Indicative market ranges for a senior professional, current as at 2026. Your figures depend on the role, the seniority and the state. We will model yours on a call — and we quote our own fee there, not here, because a number without your salary and headcount attached to it is a guess you would then have to correct.

The undertaking

We carry every statutory obligation an India hire creates — and show you each one, itemised.

  • No security deposit
  • No minimum term
  • One itemised monthly invoice

What we carry

Every obligation Indian employment creates, and who carries it.

This is the part companies discover late, usually at an audit or an exit — and the part a chartered accountant should be able to recite. Nothing below is folded into a single figure, and no row is dropped for looking uneventful.

  • Provident Fund

Employer share, charged on basic salary only. Applies from 20 employees.

12% of basic Monthly Carried by Bridge91

  • Professional Tax — Telangana

Our edge

Not just an EOR. Your India partner.

Eight things you would otherwise have to ask for, chase, or find out about the hard way.

We design the salary structure before you make the offer

Provident Fund is charged on basic pay, not on total cost. How a package splits across basic, house rent allowance and travel allowance changes both your cost and your candidate’s take-home. We model it and show you both numbers before the offer goes out. Most providers process whatever figure you hand them.

A chartered accountant runs this, not a support queue

Bridge91’s statutory work is directed by a Chartered Accountant who spent a decade at KPMG and PwC advising international businesses on Indian compliance and United States taxation, and who sits on our board as a non-executive director. The people who answer your questions are the people who run your payroll.

Health cover starts on day one, on our own policy

Your people join Bridge91’s master group health policy — employees and contractors alike — active from their first day. No separate policy to arrange, no waiting period, no gap. We manage the claims and the renewal.

Contractors are handled to Indian tax law, not generically

Bridge91 CoR covers agreements drafted for the Indian framework, tax deducted at source with Form 16A issued annually, and GST treated correctly on every contractor invoice. Global platforms tend to treat Indian contractors as a generic category. India is not one.

One wholly-owned entity, with no partner in between

Everyone we employ sits on Bridge91’s own Indian entity. Providers selling coverage across many countries own entities in fewer of them, and the difference is served by local partner firms you never meet and cannot audit.

FEMA and the dollars that pay for all of it

A foreign company cannot wire salary into an Indian bank account without the documentation the Reserve Bank requires. We receive your dollars through an Authorised Dealer bank, convert them, and pay your people in rupees. You never touch RBI reporting.

The Labour Codes are going to raise your costs

India has consolidated 29 central labour laws into four codes and they are now in force. The consequential change is that basic pay must be at least half of total remuneration, which lifts Provident Fund and gratuity for most employees. We track it and tell you what to restructure. Proactive regulatory advice is not what an EOR normally does. It is what a chartered accountant does.

Laptops arrive, and they come back

We buy the hardware, configure it, deliver it anywhere in India, track it against the person holding it, and recover it when they leave — with a condition report at both ends. Getting a machine to a new hire in Hyderabad is a real problem most providers leave with you.

Commercial terms

Starting costs nothing.

You can begin with one person and stop whenever it stops being useful. Nothing is held back, nothing is committed to in advance, and nothing appears on an invoice that was not explained before it did.

No security deposit

We hold none of your working capital before your first hire starts.

No setup fee

Opening your account, your agreement and your first employee costs nothing.

No minimum term

Start at one person and scale at your own pace. In the first three months you can exit at any time.

No hidden fees

One monthly invoice in dollars, with every component of it shown on its own line.

Bridge91 Elevate

We also build the way out. That is deliberate.

An Employer of Record should not be somewhere you get stuck. When your India team is large enough to justify your own company, we incorporate it, obtain every registration, arrange FEMA-compliant banking, and move your people across without a missed payslip.

  1. Phase 1

    Start with EOR

No Indian company, no registrations in your name, no statutory exposure. Bridge91 is the legal employer and you are the company they actually work for.

  2. Phase 2

    Grow with Bridge91

More people, more states, more complexity. Nothing changes for you operationally: the invoice grows, the obligations stay with us.

  3. Phase 3

    Elevate to your own entity

We incorporate your company, obtain every registration, arrange FEMA-compliant banking, and move your team across onto your own payroll.

The India advantage

India is not a discount. It is the largest technical labour market on earth — and far more than a technical one.

Engineering is where the headlines are. The same market produces one of the world’s largest pools of qualified accountants, analysts, designers, marketers and commercial staff, all working in English.

Golden-hour skyline of a modern Indian city — glass office towers rising over dense low-rise neighbourhoods threaded with greenery
1.5M
graduates entering the workforce each year across engineering alone
5.4M
working technology professionals, and a far larger commercial workforce beside them
5.5h
of working overlap with the United Kingdom, with a real morning window to the US east coast
3
from a signed agreement to a person legally employed and on payroll

The arithmetic

What an India hire actually costs you.

Provident Fund is charged on basic pay, not on total cost. How a package splits changes both what you pay and what your candidate takes home — so we model it before the offer goes out, rather than processing whatever figure you send us.

  • Basic pay drives the bill

The employer’s twelve per cent Provident Fund contribution and the gratuity accrual are both calculated on basic pay, which the Code on Wages requires to be at least half of total remuneration. Two packages worth the same total can carry materially different employer cost.

  • Nothing is bundled

Gross salary, employer Provident Fund, ESI, professional tax and our fee each appear on their own line of the monthly invoice. Including the ones that come to nil.

One month, in proportion

  • Basic ₹50,000
  • House rent allowance ₹25,000
  • Special allowance ₹16,595
  • Employer provident fund ₹6,000
  • Gratuity accrual ₹2,405
